Description and background 

While ESG has become a major concern in the investment world in recent years, the societal and environmental impact of technology remains a blind spot in existing ESG analysis frameworks. 

These frameworks apply more to industrial or service companies and are less adapted to technology companies, notably because of the short innovation cycles that lead to rapid technological changes and make it difficult to measure their impact. 

It is in this context that the Human Technology Foundation (HTF) has launched a partnership with investors to adapt current responsible investment tools to technology impact assessment, in order to provide them with: 

• A comprehensive analytical framework that identifies the potential positive and negative impacts of any given technology; 
• A flexible and adaptable methodology, depending on the use case (quick or more detailed analysis, different types of assets, etc.); and 
• Detailed information to deepen the analysis, e.g. libraries of indicators, best practices or controversies. 

With RBCx, and the Human Technology Foundation, join us on March 21 for a roundtable discussion to discover how this analytical framework can be used by investors, companies, regulators, NGOs, data and rating providers, as well as by entrepreneurs themselves.
