Finance Montréal opens Montréal FinTech Station

Montréal, Québec, December 5, 2019 — Finance Montréal is pleased to announce the official opening of the Montréal FinTech Station, thanks to financial support from its institutional members and the Ministère des Finances du Québec (MFQ). The Montréal FinTech Station’s mission is to support the development of new financial technology businesses and promote the digital transformation of major financial institutions.

This new physical space, located at 4 Place Ville Marie, is spread over close to 25,000 square feet. It can accommodate 25 to 35 start-ups and is equipped with more than 140 workstations. About 20 companies have already chosen to set up shop on the premises. The Montréal FinTech Station offers a unique array of customized services to meet the needs of fintech start-ups — professional and technological services, training and coaching, financial industry networking activities, business growth support — at a competitive price in a modern space close to major Québec financial institutions.

According to Matthieu Cardinal, Vice-President, FinTech Development and Corporate Affairs, Finance Montréal, “The Montréal FinTech Station is a real catalyst for developing financial technology solutions in Québec and Canada. The state-of-the-art premises are tailor made for fintech ecosystem players. The space is conducive to cooperation between start-ups and major financial service players, with a view to solving real issues faced by companies and citizens.”
