We’re continuing our series introducing members of the Finance Montréal team with a spotlight on Marie Rossignol, our Director of Outreach and Public Relations. We asked Marie a few questions to get to know her vibrant personality and what drives her.
What attracted you to Finance Montréal?
Finance Montréal’s mission—at the crossroads of economy, innovation, and impact—immediately resonated with me. I saw it as a tangible opportunity to align my values with my experience in communications and marketing, in service of a sector undergoing profound transformation.
Tell us about an initiative you enjoyed working on and are proud of.
The 2025 Sustainable Finance Summit was a defining moment for me. I had the chance to help organize it for the second year in a row, but this edition left a particular mark. Behind the panels and big ideas, there was something deeply human.
This Summit embodied what I believe in: an ecological transition driven by genuine connections, active listening, rigor, and sensitivity. I walked away moved, inspired, and proud to be part of the team making it all possible.
What’s your biggest professional dream?
To build lasting bridges between worlds that too often operate in silos—like finance, technology, and environmental issues—and to shine a light on stories that carry the future. I aspire to forge strong coalitions around meaningful initiatives for Quebec and beyond.
Tell us about one of your passions.
I’ve always been fascinated by forms of expression that tell a story bigger than oneself—whether it’s music, photography, architecture, or even a conversation between strangers. I love capturing the energy of a place, a moment, a face. It’s the same lens I bring to my work: creating connection, surfacing meaning. And to stay grounded, nothing beats a bit of movement—running, cycling, or simply walking to let the ideas flow.
What would you say to a young person to get them interested in the world of finance?
Finance is a powerful lever to help transform the world. It’s at the heart of major climate, social, and technological issues. If you want to make an impact and build innovative solutions, there’s a place for you in this ecosystem.
